A thrilling fusion of tap dance and suspense
Frederick Terry, London's cutest detective, is confronted with an explosive mix of unrequited desire and dark obsession. Jessica Warner lives to dance and lets nothing--including her jealous husband, her enamoured choreographer, or her traumatic past--stand between her and her consuming passion. When she disappears mysteriously before the première of The Taming of the Shoe, Terry begins to disentangle an intricate web of secrets and misunderstandings. It is only after a vicious attack on one of Jessica's former lovers that Terry realizes the horrifying dimensions of the danger Jessica is in. Three lives are in the balance, and he's running out of time.

Reviews

Spindler's development of the main characters is deeply moving, and the resolutions are logical and compelling. If you enjoy a short, suspenseful read, this is worth your time. If you are easily distracted by large casts and multiple subplots, this may be a bit overwhelming, although Spindler does provide an amazing insight to the human psyche. Christina Wantz

"The Rhythm of Revenge" is a narrative that will seize your interest from the opening page and will clench you tight right on down to the last page. Intensely perceptive. Molly Martin

This is a well-written, thrilling first book with a hero who is sure to keep readers coming back for more. Ms Spindler and Inspector Terry kept me up long past my bedtime last night as I reached a point of no return in the book. I can't wait for the next installment of this promising series. Jani Brooks for Romance Reviews Today

Don't put this one down for a second, as you may miss something! Inspector Terry has won my heart as a sensitive, yet human character that has a lot to offer. A mysterious, spellbinding novel. Jeri Sax for Midnight Scribe Reviews

Spindler offers one of the most sensitive, low-key portrayals of a gay man to come along. Terry doesn't make an issue of being gay, and his character doesn't act any differently from other detectives. Quirky, thorough and a gentleman to the core, here's looking forward to many more Inspector Terry mysteries. Melanie C. Duncan, The Bookdragon Review

The reader becomes involved in the ongoing lives of several members of the troupe and they become so real it's a wrench to leave them at the end of the story. This, combined with a solid mystery storyline, believable psychology, character growth and a sympathetic detective, make this a winning start to the series. Karen Meek, OMDB

Inspector Terry is an interesting addition to the type. Anyone who has read P.D. James will recognize the modern gentleman inspector - not quite a cop's cop but well respected and good at his job. Her detective becomes quite humanly involved with his suspects but never loses sight that his goal is saving Jessica. Kelly Muzyczka, Bella Online Mystery Guide

The Rhythm of Revenge is carefully choreographed and the atmosphere and setting are fine tuned for maximum effect. Spindler's writing style literally transports readers to another place with descriptions so vivid it's as though we all become part of the performing cast. PJ Nunn, Mystery Morgue
